  1. *Bump* If that's okay, I just wanted to follow up and say that I really appreciate the BND forum's help getting my feet wet with markup almost three years ago. I've not pursued a career in programming but as you fellowes had mentioned HTML/CSS did indeed come in useful. I've used it to tailor my computing experience in some ways, to pursue hobbies with friends, and it's especially been trusty at work. Honestly I think it may be part of the reason why I'm about to start my first fulltime IT position. It's in one week! I feel like I owe you guys in part for your advice. Thank you.

  3. Yeah, the w3 collection is a bit odd to navigate, but just having the information readily available is a huge enlightenment. Thank you, Raptor. I'll look into these tutorials for sure. I'm also going to start a basic all-around computer course at my community college next month. The purpose of this being: To figure out which realm of computers I'd like to go into. (It's so vast!) After that I should be going to an IT school or something.
  4. Hey, thanks for the tip, I'll go check it out.
  5. Oh wow, that's a great site. Thank you! Too bad I can't save it to Word. hehe. I do a bunch of my stuff offline.
  6. Hey, do you happen to have any 'cheat-sheets' for CSS?
  7. Oh thanks for pointing that out! I seem to remember learning about that, but when I coded the list I got confused between CSS and the original style I had learned. teehee. I need to learn more CSS it seems. Most of HTML is clicking right in too, I'm only doing it for about an hour or two out of a few random days. It's too easy! lol Though, it seems very time consuming. I probably need to take a typing class so I can improve my speeds while not looking at the keys -Skylark
  8. So I've been working off and on in Codecademy. Here is one of my recent side-projects. <html> <!--I like keeping the big tags tabbed in twice. It helps me remember where stuff is sometimes.--> <header> <title>Travian Help Sheet</title> <header> <body> <h1 align="center" title="What is a Paladin?"><a href="http://t4.answers.travian.com/index.php?view=answers&action=answer&aid=166#go2answer" style="color:black">Paladins</a></h1> <table border="1px"align="center"> <thead> <th colspan="5"style="color:#00A600">Paladins</th> </thead> <tr><td>10</td><td>3700</td><td>2700</td><td>2900</td><td>750</td></tr> <tr><td>9</td><td>3330</td><td>2430</td><td>2610</td><td>675</td></tr> <tr><td>8</td><td>2960</td><td>2160</td><td>2320</td><td>600</td></tr> <tr><td>7</td><td>2590</td><td>1890</td><td>2030</td><td>525</td></tr> <tr><td>6</td><td>2220</td><td>1620</td><td>1740</td><td>450</td></tr> <tr><td>5</td><td>1850</td><td>1350</td><td>1450</td><td>375</td></tr> <tr><td>4</td><td>1480</td><td>1080</td><td>1160</td><td>300</td></tr> <tr><td>3</td><td>1110</td><td>810</td><td>870</td><td>225</td></tr> <tr><td>2</td><td>740</td><td>540</td><td>580</td><td>150</td></tr> <tr><td>1</td><td>370</td><td>270</td><td>290</td><td>75</td></tr> <tr><th>#</th><th style="color:#B85C00">Lumber</th><th style="color:#FFA319">Clay</th><th style="color:#7575A3">Iron</th><th style="color:#D6D673">Crop</th></tr> </table><br/> <p align="center">"What is this list?" 9. Well, Pokemon is Nintendo's moneybag; one of them at least. They wouldn't let EA make it without so many copyrights and restrictions... Let's start a petition of Nintendo that they will develop a fresh, sound pokemon RPG for X-Box and PC. 'Think this deserves a new thread? -Skylark
  10. I have a friend who does pony vector art in Deviantart using inkscape. He says there is a way around the 32x nature of Inkscape: "(saying this off ther top of my head) File > Inkscape Preferences > Filter > Number of threads to use for rendering gaussian blur" -90Sigma Changing that number to the number of cores you have is the effective way to increase performance of things such as filters or exports, according to his words. -Skylark
  11. Oh, I have respect for military types
  12. Very cool! I've considered going to school for coding, but I think my career would be something different, coding being a hobby.
  13. I'll likely never reach that level, as cool at it would be. My career is likely to be something else; coding being my hobby.
  14. Please, oh please do! I love Pokemon, but the sad thing is; if you played one you've played them all so it seems. I can't wait until they bring forth a new level of the pokemon universe; one where stats are more closely controlled, and it's a battle bigger than mashing A until you win.
